In a career that spans more than 45 years, legendary musician/producer/songwriter Al Kooper has had an amazing impact on music history, beginning with his days as a member of the Royal Teens and extending through his associations with many of the biggest names in rock-and-roll history.

In his early 60s, Al just keeps rocking. Last summer, he released his first solo album in 30 years, Black Coffee. Since 2001, he's been jamming with a group of fellow Berklee School of Music professors. The band calls itself The Funky Faculty. Including Al, the Funky Faculty consists of Bob Dozema (guitar), Larry Finn (drums), Daryl Lowery (sax), Tom Stein (bass), and Jeff Stout (trumpet).

We caught up with Al Kooper and the Funky Faculty last summer as they delighted a crowd of enthusiastic Boomers....along with what appeared to be their kids and grandkids. Rock-and-roll will never die!

Check out the clip of Al and the rest of the Faculty jamming through their sound check.
