Cool Nostalgia

We did some videotaping last week for our upcoming TV series at a location that brought back lots of fond memories. It's called Vintage Vending. Their showroom was filled with old gas pumps, picnic coolers, juke boxes and great old signs.

What I like the best were the "sets"...we sat at a formica topped kitchen table and chrome chairs with red padding. There were "Fiesta Ware" cups and bowls and a matching pitcher - remember making lemonade in that kind of pitcher all summer for picnics in your own yard? And taking it out to a blanket under the trees to share with your friends?

It's amazing how excited Mark got when he saw an old Hires Root Beer cooler. That was his favorite drink. I wanted to buy one of those small juke boxes that used to play three songs for a quarter, even though I don't have a booth for it!

We all went through those stories of regret..."oh if I'd only saved my little red fire engine, it would be worth so much today!" "Why did I let my mother get rid of all my 45 records?"

It's fun to go back in time, even if it's just for a couple of hours! You can find some reminders of your childhood at www.vintagevending.com.

It looks like it's from the 1950's but this
