Nancy is a reporter who loves to write and produce stories about people making changes in their lives.  As a Boomer, she has been through many life transitions and is fascinated with the way other members of her generation are renegotiating the later stages of midlife.  Her special focus is on wellness, from physical health to emotional well-being and spiritual growth.

Nancy spent many years in broadcast journalism, including seven years as a national correspondent for NBC News. She won a national Emmy Award while at NBC and covered everything from White House Summits to the discovery of pirate treasure to America's Cup races.

Nancy became an entrepreneur when she co-founded Lifecycle Productions, an award winning healthcare education company focusing on life transitions. Lifecycle's videos were featured in the New York Times, People Magazine, on Oprah, and CNN. The programs won many awards and were distributed in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Nancy is a certified Kripalu yoga teacher. She loves to swim, bike, and hike through the Berkshire Hills in Western Massachusetts with her family whenever possible. Nancy is on the board of the Alzheimer's Association of Massachusetts.

Host, Senior Producer

Sports Hero : Willie Mays
Favorite Cowboy: Roy Rogers
Favorite Books : Curious George

Mark landed his first paid journalism job in November 1969, reporting for the University of Massachusetts public radio station on one of the huge anti-war rallies in Washington. Actually, he was a protestor, but he called in a story or two and collected twenty bucks.

That early taste of broadcast news gave him the bug, and he’s been slogging away in radio, television, and on the web ever since.

Mark met Nancy in the newsroom of WWLP Channel 22 in Springfield, Mass. He was the Assistant News Director and week-end anchor. It was a great place to learn - and to fall in love. They got married in June 1978.

Mark spent 18 years at WCVB-TV in Boston, where he was Executive Producer of the nightly news magazine Chronicle, winner of the duPont-Columbia journalism award and many other honors. Along the way, he developed an unexpected fascination with financial planning and surprised himself and his friends by studying for years and passing the exams to become a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Mark figured if he had to make a run for it out of broadcasting he could fall back on the CFP gig. Instead he’s managed to roll that into his reporting and now specializes in financial journalism.

Mark loves being a Boomer. He is proud of his three grown children and psyched about recently becoming a grandfather. He can still hit a golf ball 250 yards, sometimes even in the right direction. He has a nasty habit of eating too much mint chocolate chip ice cream while watching Law and Order reruns, but loves working it off on long walks with Nancy or doing some woodworking on weekends.

Bill Charette began his career at WGBH-TV, Boston in 1970 where he worked on every major WGBH production including Julia Child’s French Chef, Zoom, Frontline, American Experience, Nova, Masterpiece Theater and the Boston Pops.

Additionally, Bill served as the Director of Photography on Martha Stewart’s first Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Specials, and the pilot for her current series. He is a founding partner of LeCain-Charette Associates, which has been involved in the production of Bob Vila, Home Again for 17 seasons. He has also worked on dozens of network specials and magazine shows including 20/20, The Today Show and the nightly network news shows.

Bill is the father of three college graduates, a proud “young” grandfather, and an ardent road bicycle enthusiast.

Regarding how he got the idea for BOOMERS!, Bill says, “About two years ago, I was at a point when, like so many of my peers, I had lots of questions about the next chapter of my life: When and where would I retire? How much money would I need? Could my wife and I afford to travel? Was there a spiritual element that was missing from my life? What could I do to stay healthy?”

Bill continues, “I did an Internet search to see if there was an existing TV series that addressed the concerns of baby boomers and was shocked that there wasn’t.

“I put a few ideas down on paper and made a list of people that I’d love to work with again. Several months later I had the proposal for BOOMERS!, and a core production group that included Mark and Nancy as hosts.

“Today, Nancy and I have incorporated BMP, Inc. and are excited about serving the needs of the boomer niche in broadcasting. We are equally enthusiastic about having created an exciting second act for ourselves.”
